There’s a lot of talk about interest rates and the cost of living crisis, but many of those hardest hit don’t have mortgages. Rather, they’re people whose rents have skyrocketed.
At my Foundation we’ve never been busier. We’re distributing 40,000 free meals every month to people who are being squeezed by inflation – and in particular by rent rises.
Oftentimes these people have jobs, but they don’t earn enough to pay the rent and put food on the table as well.
I’m sure you can imagine how overwhelming and distressing it is for these people.
That’s why our work is so important. People shouldn’t go hungry, even amid the cost of living crisis in Australia. With your continued help I’m determined to do my best to keep them nourished and supported.
