Vaccinating the homeless

The government expect COVID-19 vaccinations to be rolled out soon. Frontline workers, the elderly and the vulnerable have been identified as first in line to receive it.

However, the homeless have not been deemed as a priority group for vaccination. That’s despite most having multiple pre-existing chronic health conditions and poor housing.

“It’s more than unfortunate, it’s risking lives”, said Rev. Bill Crews. “The homeless must be prioritised for vaccination, rather than being made to wait. Surely that’s the response of a decent society?”
