Our Loaves & Fishes Free Restaurant was full of festive cheer for the poor and homeless when some of Sydney’s top chefs prepared a wonderful Christmas in July meal.
Danielle Alvarez and Kerrie McCallum (pictured) joined Justin North, Ross Lusted and our own chef Craig Bates to cook up a traditional lunch with all the trimmings.
In addition to all our usual help, special events like these make the daily lives of our needy guests better – they foster a supportive spirit in our community.
“It’s important to give back to the community”, said Mr. Alvarez. “Part of my job as a chef is to cook for people; it doesn’t matter who they are or where they come from”.
Over 300 of Sydney’s most needy enjoyed our Christmas in July feast. Many expressed their thanks with tears of gratitude.
