Media call for Christmas Day: Sydney’s biggest free Christmas Day lunch

by Team Bill 24 Dec 2019
Tomorrow Rev. Bill Crews AM will once again host Sydney’s biggest free Christmas Day lunch for the poor and homeless at The Rev. Bill Crews Foundation in Ashfield.

Thousands of needy Sydneysiders will attend, including families with children, the elderly, the lonely and the homeless. Of course Santa will have presents for them all!

The Hon. Anthony Albanese MP will be there too, helping hundreds of other volunteers serve Christmas meals to the poor.

This year marks the 34th anniversary of Rev. Crews’s free Christmas Lunch and each year it grows bigger!

“We have multiple sittings of 900 people. It’s the only way we can feed all the thousands who attend”, said Rev. Crews.

By the time the day is over the needy guests will have consumed over 80 hams, 65 turkeys and more than 2,700 mini-puddings!
