With the growing need for our services by people who are living on the edges of society, and to continue to provide high level support to the community we have a need for a Triage Support Officer to join our Social Health & Wellbeing team. 

This is a casual position for two (2) days per week – Monday & Tuesday, 8am to 4pm

What will you do?

Our Healthcare team operates a full Medical Clinic providing safe, high quality and effective health care services that address the holistic (physical, social and psychological) needs of disenfranchised individuals.

You’ll be based in the clinic providing front-line assistance to clients scheduling appointments with GPs, our Dentist, Allied Health professionals and Caseworkers, and referring individuals through to the Intake team.

Given the vulnerability of many of our clients who are dealing with sometimes very challenging behaviours, your ability to engage with individuals in a non-judgmental, supportive and respectful manner, while providing a safe and calm environment in the reception area will be essential.

You will also:

  • be the first point of contact either face-to-face, email and / or phone
  • update client details and enquiries using our information management system (Penelope) – we’ll provide training if needed
  • provide administrative support as required, and ideally
  • have previous experience as receptionist in a community service or hospital environment

That said, we also think that this role would also be a great opportunity for a university student who has either completed or nearing completion of their degree in Social Worker, Community Services or similar.
