Sadly we are seeing the numbers of people living on the fringes of society increasing and so is the need for our services.  To ensure that we are providing quality support to those in our community who are most vulnerable we are in search for another Triage Support Officer to join our Social Health & Wellbeing team.

This role will suit someone looking for either a part-time or casual position for two (2) days per week – Monday & Tuesday, 8am to 4pm.

What you do?

Our Healthcare team operates a full Medical Clinic providing safe, high quality and effective health care services that address the holistic (physical, social and psychological) needs of disenfranchised individuals.

You’ll be working on the front-line providing assistance to clients and scheduling appointments with GPs, our Dentist, Allied Health professionals and Caseworkers, and referring individuals through to the Intake team.

Given the complex issues and sometime challenging behaviours that many of our client deal with your ability to engage with individuals in a non-judgmental, supportive and respectful manner, while providing a safe and calm environment in the reception area is essential.

You will:

  • be the first point of contact either face-to-face, email and / or phone
  • update client details and enquiries using our information management system (Penelope) – we’ll provide training if needed
  • provide administrative support as required, and ideally have previous experience as receptionist in a community service or hospital environment
  • knowledge of support pathways is a must, and

We also think that this role would also be a great opportunity for a university student who has either completed or nearing completion of a degree in Social Worker, Community Services or similar.
