Summary
To ensure the Food Services Operation on the Night Van is conducted in accordance with the processes and procedures outlined by the Food Service Manager.
Reporting relationships
Reports to Night Van Supervisor.
Duties and essential job funtions
- Ensure food is served in a timely and consistent manner
- Ensure food health and safety obligations and requirements are adhered to
- As much as possible, ensure the working environment is safe for guests, volunteers and staff
- Ensure WH&S policies and procedures are adhered to
- Ensure the kitchen is left in a clean and presentable manner
- Ensure the van is kept in good running order
- Ensure The Rev. Bill Crews Foundation is represented in a professional manner at all times
- Other duties as assigned
- Minimum age: 18
- Volunteers serve up to: 2 hours Daily
General requirements
Food Services volunteers provide a valuable contribution to the food services operation, and the Food Service Mission Statement is our primary focus to ensure all guests have a positive experience. The requirement for compliance in the area of food safety is essential. Please ensure you are following these requirements:
- Read your job description and ask your supervisor if you any questions or concerns
- Ensure all guests are greeted and served in a friendly manner
- An apron and a name badge will be provided
- Long pants, closed covered shoes should be worn. No short pants allowed.
- Gloves should be worn at all times, and changed as required
- You are entitled to a meal and a drink as advised by the Night Van Supervisor, but please don’t consume food and beverages in the service areas or while on duty
- In the event there is a conflict with a guest, please seek assistance from the Night Van Supervisor or a Community Carer immediately
- To comply with Workplace Health and Safety requirements, we ask all volunteers to sign in and out. The timesheet is located in the Volunteer Area
- Personal belongings can be stored securely in the Volunteer Area
