The Rev. Bill Crews Foundation urgently needs 52 tonnes of food donations to feed Sydney’s hungry.
Cost of living pressures and soaring demand have depleted warehouse stocks to the extent that the Foundation risks being unable to supply emergency food parcels to those in need.
Food has become so expensive that many poor Australians simply can’t afford to put dinner on the table. In fact, record numbers of them now rely on our emergency food parcels to feed their families.
Rev. Bill Crews – CEO and founder of The Rev. Bill Crews Foundation.
Food donations by numbers
The amount of food donations immediately required to feed Sydney’s hungry is astounding. The most needed items include:
• 3 tonnes of tinned bean mix
• 3 tonnes of baked beans
• 2 tonnes of tinned leg ham
• 3 tonnes of tinned tuna
• 3 tonnes of instant noodles
• 4 tonnes of jam
• 1 tonne of instant coffee
• 8,000L of long life milk
• 4 tonnes of Week-Bix
• 4 tonnes of pasta
• 4,000L pasta sauce
• 8,000L of custard
Thousands of emergency food parcels
The Rev. Bill Crews Foundation’s emergency food parcels are a lifeline. In fact, up to 8,000 of them will be distributed to families in need over the coming months.
Each food parcel includes all the basics required to put meals on the table including soups, noodles, biscuits and tuna.
Skyrocketing food prices have had a dramatic impact on the poor and working-poor. I expect the problem to get worse before it gets better, which means a growing number of Australians will turn to my Foundation for emergency food relief.
